About the Practice

 

Karina Von Middendorf, Psychologist Karina von Middendorf, Ph.D., LMFT is a Relationship, Addiction, Intimacy, Sexuality and Trauma specialist. Therapy sessions are offered in California, Florida, and Internationally via Video Therapy, Telephone Therapy, & Full-Day Intensives. Coaching sessions are also offered nationally and internationally.

Dr. von Middendorf's  education includes a B.S. degree in Hospitality Management and Businessl Administration from Florida International University. A National Graduate Merit Scholar and Psi Chi-Psychology National Honor student, she attended University of San Francisco, receiving a M.A. degree in Counseling Psychology. After continuing her education in the Doctoral Counseling program at University of San Francisco for one year, she transferred to The Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality, in San Francisco, where she recieved a Doctor of Human Sexuality (D.H.S.), and Ph.D. in Human Sexuality.


Post Doctorate training and certifications : LMFT: Employee Assistance Professional, Substance Abuse Professional, EMDR (Trauma Recovery) Level 1& 2, Certified Clinical Sexologist, Certified Sex Therapist, Certified  Sex Addiction Therapist, American Academy of Anti Aging Medicine - certification in Sexual Health and Treatment, Advanced level Ericksonian Hypnosis, Biofeedback, Neurofeedback, Critical Incident Stress Management, Mediation Certification, and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Additional experience includes: US Department of Defense, Germany, counseling officers returning from Afghanistan and Iraq with PTSD, Substance Abuse, Depression and Anxiety disorders. Former Director of Trauma Disorders and Sex Addiction at Alta Mira Treatment Center in Sausalito, California.
